Cause Description:
Arkwild, Inc. supports the Abaco Wild Horse Fund which is operating to preserve 17 pure Spanish horses on the island of Abaco in the Bahamas. The horses represent an irreplaceable gene pool in planetary biodiversity as DNA tests have shown them to be of Spanish origin, probably arriving on the island around the time of Columbus and being untouched genetically since that time. Arkwild, Inc. is working with the Boy and Girl scouts of Abaco and the Bahamas to establish a conservation area wherein the scouts will gain real time conservation experience and where the horses will have their own special preserve so that increasing reproduction can be fostered and health care administered.
