HPL has a collection of over 4.4 million books, tapes, CDs, and DVDs, and presents a wide-variety of cultural and educational programs year-round. Houston Public Library includes the newly renovated Central Library, the Houston Metropolitan Research Center, the Clayton Center for Genealogical Research and 36 neighborhood libraries. Houston Public Library also has several innovative special service units including HPL Express locations and the Parent Resource Center at the Children's Museum of Houston.
