Cause Description:
Homeward Bound Pet Shelter is a private, non-profit pet shelter who's mission is based upon the no-kill philosophy. Where adoptable dogs and cats are not euthanized based upon a timeframe. Cats are housed in cozy rooms free to interact with each other and visitors. Dogs, are provided clean, dry kennels that are heated in winter, and cooled in the summer. Dogs are also provided several daily outings in 5 different playyards. Our goal is to educate adopters on proper pet care, and to best match adopters with adoptees. Our pets come from the public, (as guardian-released, or strays),our local animal control, and from different rescue organizations. All pets are up dated on vaccinations, spayed or neutered, and Heartworm negative, or Feline leukemia/FIV negative. Our organization is funded strictly by private donations, and grants. We rely, heavily on volunteers from our community to help in caring for our pets here at the shelter, and have received help from dozens of community service organizations. Each individual volunteer, and sponsor has aided in saving hundreds of dogs and cats, and for that we thank you!
