Cause Description:
Boys to Men /Girlfriends is a local mentoring youth development porgram that serves at-risk boys and girls ages 6-18. Our main goal is to help these kids develop into healthy, happy, succesful adults who will reverse the cycle of dysfunction modeled in their homes and communities. Amother goal is to help them attain success in all areas of life; educational, social, emotional, spiritual and physical so that they can do for others what has been done for them. We do this through our afterschool small groups, one on one mentoring, sports teams, summer camps, and enrichement opportunties. We have 5 full time staff (who work with them daily) and 70 volunteers who mentor, help with homework, and special projects.
