Cause Description:
KSDS is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing professionally trained guide, service, and facility dogs for people in need of a canine partner to enhance their independence, to fully function in society, and/or to enrich their professional career responsibilities with the ongoing support of our trainers. At KSDS we provide three types of dogs: Guide dogs - specially trained mobility assistance to those who are blind or visually impaired. Service dogs - dogs used by people with physical disabilities. They are trained to help pull a wheelchair, retrieve articles, provide balance, turn lights on/off, and open doors. Facility dogs - work alongside a working professional in the field of education, counseling, or social work to enhance their interactions with students/clients. All of our dogs are provided free of charge to our selected recipients.
