Cause Description:
The HIV Institute (formerly the AIDS Research Institute) was established in 1996 by the Regents of the University of California (UC) to coordinate UC San Diego’s diverse HIV/AIDS activities and programs as well as to train the next generation of scientists and clinicians. The HIV Institute's mission is to foster interdisciplinary discovery and innovation to galvanize our programs’ and members’ efforts to end HIV and create an AIDS-free generation. Serving as the regional nexus for scientists and clinicians to share research and new approaches, the ARI partners with the San Diego community to prevent, diagnose, treat, and one day cure HIV.
