The Long Island Parrot Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating people who share their homes with pet birds and the public about proper bird care; to promote conservation in the wild and to establish a Parrot Museum, Shelter and Learning Center on Long Island. Our Parrot University program is a traveling, team-taught classroom with parrots as teaching assistants; it's available to schools, clubs and organizations such as scout troops. Our foster and adoption program places hundreds of birds in new, qualified homes each year. LIPS meets monthly in Babylon, New York.
