Founded in 1997 by Artistic Director Rubén Polendo, MITU is dedicated to weaving and transliterating elements from eastern and western theater traditions. These in turn form the core of MITU's training and creation methodology. Our work ranges from deconstructions of classic texts to new plays based on ancient myths and poems, as well as physical explorations merging dance, ritual and theater. Mitu's mission is to use the power of the theatrical to strengthen the soul of the community. We are looking for help in funding our productions to begin to create a true community amidst the chaos of our modern world.
