Cause Description:
(1) Memorial Scholarship Fund. Established in 1969, to honor the loss in Vietnam of Division Commander General Bruno A. Hochmuth, the first award was presented in 1973. As of the 2018-2019 school year, 801 scholarship awards of more than $667,000 been presented to deserving students based on financial need. As a result, students of Third Marine Division Association members have consistently demonstrated excellence in colleges and universities across the United States. (2) We, as members of The Third Marine Division Association, continue to take care of our own. Through our funding programs, we help our members who are in need of assistance. (3) At our annual reunions, we have the chance to reacquaint ourselves with Marines we knew in the past. Marines of all eras, all ranks, and all backgrounds attend these activities. Who knows, the buddy you have never forgotten may be there looking for you.
