Cause Description:
RISE Prep Mayoral Academy opened in September 2015 to 46 kindergarten scholars. Our school was a result of two years of building, planning, and studying the highest performing schools in the country through the Building Excellent Schools Fellowship and remains driven by the unwavering belief that all children deserve access to high quality, public, and tuition-free education. RISE Prep partnered with Rhode Island Mayoral Academies to bring an intentionally-diverse and rigorous college-preparatory K-8 public charter school to Woonsocket that enrolls scholars from Woonsocket, North Smithfield and Burrillville to provide a socio-economically and racially diverse learning community. RISE Prep believes that grit and relentless hard work on behalf of children are key to ensuring that as we grow a new grade each year, our scholars are the proof point that demographics do not determine destiny and that college begins in kindergarten.
