Cause Description:
HandsFor is a non-sectarian, non-profit organization started by volunteers, for volunteers with the goal of providing technology and helping hands to communities in developing countries. Our volunteers have the hands and heart to dedicate their time, knowledge, skills and experience to projects worldwide but don't always have the financial means to meet daily living expenses during their service. Our purpose is to match our volunteers with organizations, forming a mutually beneficial relationship, and to raise funds, through sponsorship, for our volunteers so they can focus on the project without worrying about the basic necessities of life such as food, shelter and health insurance. We feel that by helping our volunteers overcome the financial obstacles of leaving the for-profit world behind for a greater goal, we empower them to change the world, and help to promote international understanding that extends beyond borders and bypasses the financial constraints of our volunteers.
